Night to Unite Photos
Posted September 3rd, 2007 by Adam Harvey
Some pictures from the Night to Unite can be found here. The majority of them were taken by Amy Weahry from Merrick House. There was a good turnout and some familiar and not-so familiar faces from the neighborhood and across Cleveland. City government was also well represented.
Fundraiser for Our Families
Posted August 8th, 2007 by ScottRThe residents of Holmden Buhrer Rowley and Mentor Castle Clark Block Clubs (along W. 14th Street south of the 490 bridge) need Tremont's help.
Last week, a home on W.12th Street was set on fire in the middle of the night, while the family was sleeping in the home. The family could easily have been killed, but fortunately escaped with their lives. This is the second arson fire within a month on W.12th - earlier another family's garage was burnt. Both families who were the target of the arson were African-American. Earlier this summer racist graffiti appeared in the neighborhood.

TWDC Annual Meeting Recap
Posted January 26th, 2007 by Adam HarveyThe 2007 Tremont West Development Corporation Annual Meeting was the other night. In case you didn't attend, or just want to see some of the things that happened, I took some video. Councilmen Santiago and Cimperman as well as CMSD Superintendant Dr. Eugene Sanders spoke. Dr. Sanders was particularly well-spoken. Videos are after the jump.
TWDC Election Candidates
Posted January 18th, 2007 by Adam HarveyI tried to get my hands on electronic copies of the TWDC Board Election Candidate bios from TWDC, but it looks like the best way to go about it was scanning and converting to PDF. So, if you want to read about the candidates that you'll be voting for at the membership meeting on the 25th, you can read about them here: 271KB PDF.
Snow Shovel Crew
Posted December 6th, 2006 by Adam HarveyYesterday as I was walking to my bus stop an extremely nice woman with a snowblower had cleared the walk all the way up W. 11th. Since I almost die about 4 times each winter slipping on sidewalks, I thought it would be a good idea to form a snow shovel crew to set a good example and clear the sidewalks, especially for Tremont's older residents who might not be up to the task.
This also might be a good idea to pair up with the Merrick House Civility Project if Amy agrees. If you'd be interested in doing this, please comment here. I offered to do it for my block club last year, but didn't get any takers. I think being proactive might be the best way to go about it.
It is also good exercise and an excuse to drink beer afterwards.
