Patrol
Posted August 15th, 2006 by Tremonter
I snapped this picture of Cleveland's Finest after they ran me [and everyone else] off the sidewalk at Lincoln Park yesterday around dinner time. It is good to see them patrolling the playground to make sure all the parents and their children aren't breaking into cars and homes.

With all the heated discussion about the Polic not patrolling the neighborhood and shady characters camping in the park - i can't belive you have the nerve to now be upset because you had to get off the sidewalk for 10 seconds to let a police car patrol the middle of the park! Good God - this is amazing. I'm glad to see the police responding to our requests for more agressive patrolling of our neighborhoods
I'm not upset, I being sarcastic.
What really blows my mind are the people that blow thru the intersection of 11th and Starkweather! I've been hit almost 5 times now by some jerk pulling out in front of me. The cops sit up at Civilization and do NOTHING about it. For chrssakes there are kids everywhere! Am I the only Tremonter that notices this??
dude was just following your advice:
"I wanted to tell him to go arrest the crack dealer by Lincoln Park" -you
Come to think of it, I've not seen him around in awhile...
yeah, apparently the cops in Tremont are putting all the effort in the wrong places.
the parking lot of my apartment building is a well publicized goddam magnet for car break-ins, my car was the latest victim 2 nights ago.
no one does anything about it though.
side story: i was at the Feast of the Assumption in Little Italy on Saturday night, and at the stroke of Midnight, a dozen cruisers put on their lights and horns and chased everyone off the street and kept patrolling up and down shining flashlights on people until the entire crowd disappeared.
i hope all those cops are happy that they wasted everyones time by making sure no one was eating pizza or pasta after Midnight while people all around the city are victimized by violence, breakins, rapes, murders, who knows what while they parade up and down Mayfield Rd.
One of the Lincoln Park Gazebo crack dealers was arrested today, so we have a little break for a while.
He and his buddy have been casing Professor Avenue a lot the last few days and everyone has been all over them making it harder for them to pull their usual stunts. Today, one of the business owners called the police to get these two guys off their property and one of them had an outstanding warrant.
My friend came up to Tremont for the second time yesterday. We were at Prosperity Social Club, and when she went out to her car parked out front (11:30pm), she found her passenger side window smashed in by a brick. Welcome to Tremont! (Side note: A strange and certainly mentally challenged man on a bike rode up moments later. He kept talking about God and asked for the brick. We think he may have done this. He also may live on 14th. If anyone knows anything, please respond). And thanks to the nice man that let us borrow his shop vac from Grumpy's to vaccuum all the shattered glass from her car (and the two car seats in the back). Boo.
I live on W. 11th next to SouthSide and someone's passenger window was broken into the other day, maybe yesterday or the day before. In that same spot a few months back a friend of mine had her radio stolen from her car.
i know the "mentally challenged" man who rides his bike and speaks about god that lives on 14th. I'm also pretty sure he did not throw a brick in your car. He might have seen it happen and asked for the brick because he's just cooky like that.
The man is completely capable of having an intelligent conversation and you accusing him reflects the yuppy that you are. Tell your friend to stay in whatever suburb she lives in if Tremont's too rough.
you are gaylords and eat heaps of poop.
or she's new to the 'hood el fanta and unaware of our diverse and colorful neighborhood. in the future we'll all be gentleman and lady-like and introduce ourselves to people, no?
if they were gaylords they woulb be at bounce no? and i don't think prosperity has 5 dollar poop special.
as for our friendly police folk:
they have no responsibility to protect private property!!
they exist to protect the state and city, not the individual.
it's the individuals responsibility to protect their property and the police's responsibility to apprehend criminals AFTER they've taken it.
lock it up or get rid of it.
as for the sidewalk gran prix 500, abuse of authority.
they often run stop lights and stop signs at will without the requisite flashers and siren and i've watched them do it and go a few blocks and stop to trap an intersection.
i realize there are a number of instances where i can't KNOW that they're not in silent running to interecept a vehicle or a crime suspect but the law of averages is against it...
Gaylord's was in Ohio City... I don't think they sold poop there either.
No, I think they did have poop at Gaylords for a little while-but it was just a test market thing, they don't stock it anymore.
Hey el fantastico, next time you post something about someone you don't know, make sure you're not on your period. That girl was prob pissed her car got shitcanned and made a hasty assumption.
hey johnny bonkers, how about you go eat some ass.
>i know the "mentally challenged" man who rides his bike and speaks about god that lives on 14th
frank isn't mental.
The Dick Feagler imposter credits Frank for all of Tremont's
good fortune.
frank is the "strange and certainly mentally challenged man" that lives on 14th street. LOL remember when frank was run of the mill in this neighborhood? i guess it's all relative.
I'm sorry to hear about the woman who had her car window broken, but in Tremont we really don't say "vacuum" as in "I'm going to vacuum," because it's too formal. We just say "I'm going to choke the alligator."
If the police are going to patrol the park wouldn't it be better done on foot? Or is that too much to ask? I think it is really obnoxious that they drive down the sidewalks. I'm happy to see the police keeping an eye on the park, but get out of the car!
