Commentary thread for Councilman Joe Santiago's Public record Email's

This thread is provided to have discussions regarding the content of the public records attained by from the City of Cleveland. Please understand, I left then names but no direct email addresses, i have also deleted any phone numbers within the emails.

Some people may not like this but it is time for the taxpayers to understand how certain people have been disenfranchised.

Police have broken up a heavily armed, sophisticated drug trafficking operation that was located in Tremont.

Neighbors, Friends and business owners in the Tremont community and surrounding neighborhoods please plan on attending this forum to support Fire Station #21.

Stand up and express yourself to City officials that the closing of Fire Station #21 is unacceptable. It puts the community at risk.

Please bring your red "Save Fire Engine #21" signs, or make another. We must continue holding up the signs during the entire meeting to show our support for the firefighters.

GEM Guilty in Federal Pollution Case

From Ohio Citizen Action:

General Environmental Management (GEM) has pled guilty to three federal criminal counts of making false statements about hazardous wastes and toxic chemical discharges at its facility. According to court documents,  GEM falsified manifests to conceal that it was illegally storing hazardous waste at the facility and provided false information to the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District about the discharge of the toxic chemical methyl ethyl ketone into the sewer system. GEM andits Vice President Scott Forster also admitted to falsely telling the sewer district that it had not processed unapproved industrial wastewater.

The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, U.S. EPA, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the Ohio EPA, all members of the Northeast Ohio Environmental Crimes Task Force, pursued the enforcement case.  U.S. District Court Judge John Adams in Akron will pronounce sentencing in the case on January 21, 2009.

Tremont Art Walk in October (Political Art)

Santiago Saga was depicted in Art. My neighbor Georgiann went Art hopping on Art Walk night in Tremont. She picked up this flyer at one of the galleries. I believe this sums up popular opinion!

I'm glad the huge hedges on W. 11th just south of Fairfield have been cut back. The sidewalk was like a cave. But I wonder what all of the demolition is leading to...
