This July, the Northeastern Ohio Antiwar Coalition (NOAC) will sponsor a series of films that document war resistance from a variety of perspectives.

The
films, which are free and open to the public, will be shown each Monday
at 7:30 PM at Visible Voice Books. Doors at the bookstore will open at
6:30 PM, and moviegoers are encouraged to come early to browse the
shop’s wide selection of books.

Sir! No Sir!:

This film is a recipient of several film festival and documentary association awards. Sir! No Sir!
tells the formerly suppressed story of the GI movement to end the war
in Vietnam. The film documents a movement that had, in the words of one
colonel, “infested the entire armed services” by 1971. Using the
stories of those involved in the movement as well as archival material,
the movie explores the impact this internal resistance had on the
military and the war itself while also revealing how and why this
movement has been intentionally erased from the public memory.
