Fire Station 21 to be closed all summer?
Summer is coming and the future of Fire Station 21 is still in doubt.
If we want to keep the station that serves Tremont for fire and
emergency medical situation open, we need to pressure those who make
the decisions.
There are changes in the Cleveland Fire Department being considered,
but the squeaky wheel gets the grease. If nobody voices their
displeasure--or points out the obvious problem with Cleveland, of all
places, not maintaining fire protection on the Cuyahoga River--the
daily deployment will not change.
Staion 21 has been open just one day in the last month. It is
unacceptable and the affected citizens need to stand up. Now is the
time to let Councilmen Cimperman and Santiago, Mayor Jackson and Fire
Chief Stubbs know that closing Station 21 on a daily basis is
unacceptable.
I encourage you to demand the protection you deserve.
Sincerely,
Mike Norman
Secretary, Fire Fighters Local 93
