Moving back to Tremont...

My boyfriend and I used to live on Thurman Ave between College and Literary. Our neighbors and the kids on our street were enough for us to make the decision to move closer to my boyfriends work on the eastside.

We've now decided to move back and we've just signed a lease for a place on Brayton and 8th right around the corner from Fruit. I was wondering how this part of Tremont was. It seems relatively quiet, but looks can be decieving, like on Thurman.

My boyfriend who had lived in Tremont for 4 years prior to this sees nothing wrong with this street, but I wanted to get a few different opinions. I'm only a bit nervous because our cars will once again be out in plain view, and I often walk around by myself because I use the RTA and stuff...

Please let me know your thoughts and opinions of the street, etc. I'm not trying to bash the street at all, it looks lovely, but just wondering if it really is as good as it seems, or if I'm going to have move again after this lease. (Don't want to do that!)

Thanks.

I live on Brayton and it is a nice street its kind of like the suburb of Tremont in my mind.....I am friends with my neighbors we look out for each other. Its a quiet street no loud party's or music, there is a band on the next street but once you go inside you don't hear them. Only a few pointers as you have seen parking is limited, so please don't double park be courteous of your neighbors we have had problems with people from Starkweather parking on our street and leaving us with no place to park which is a hassle.  Something you will probably deal with from time to time. There are some teenagers down past 8th towards professor but they pretty much mind their own business and  haven't show to be trouble makers. I have been on Brayton 3 years. Yes of course there is crime on our street this isn't mayberry, things do happen like in every neighborhood. My only other piece of advice is if you own a Honda sell it since from reading other posts on here they like those and are quicker to steal them. You asked about walking around I have a 2 and 3 yr old and I walk with them regularly with no fear. Other than that welcome to the street, hopefully you enjoy living here. If you have any other questions please ask.
