Tremont residents and businesspeople are invited to the annual Membership Meeting of Tremont West Development Corporation scheduled for Thursday, January 31st at OLA/St. Joseph Center (W. 14th & Kenilworth) - a free dinner is served at 6 pm - meeting begins at 7 pm - Board of Director elections (members vote for up to 7 out of 12 candidates) and the Strategic Investment Initiative Plan - guest speaker is Mayor Frank Jackson - Councilmen Cimperman and Santiago will also share remarks - community group tables and block club displays - the year in photos (during dinner hour) - neighborhood awards - a time for community and neighbors - please join us!

Well folks when we were all young our parents told us to watch out for the "Boogie Man". We will meet the "Boogie Man" face to face on Thursday night at the Tremont West Annual meeting. The Strategic Investment Initiative plan is the "Boogie Man"
The plan suggests taking several of our Tremont neighbors houses on Thurman. They were never contacted, how could we stand by and let this plan discriminate against these people? This is how it gets started.
Who benefits? A) Developers ! B) Tremont West !
First we must set a new direction on the Tremont West Board do not vote to retain any current Board members running. Second do not vote to endorse the new Master Plan, this is NPI's plan to gentrify our community.

your statement is alarmist and uninformed. the master plan does not authorize eminent domain--it merely provides general goals and artists' renditions. second, not all current board members are pro-development. third, npi doesn't steer development, it only assists in securing funding for CDCs.
