Just wanted to cross post a good suggestion posted on Tremont Leaders regarding scheduling of Show Your Stuff.

The suggestion [paraphrased] "check with the schedules of local churches and organizations who book well in advance so they may participate in Show Your Stuff as well."

This suggestion was actually raised a few years back and the Sunday of June artWalk had been dubbed the official Show Your Stuff event day so everyone could plan up to a year in advance if needed...

As ArtWalk, Taste of Tremont and Arts & Cultural festival prove - if you keep the same designated schedule - it makes it easy for everyone to plan well in advance.

The event was also designated to remain on a Sunday for the Churches since their parishioners are already in the neighborhood on Sundays (v. a Saturday)

And June was designated as the month for two reasons - one, April and May are too fickle in terms of weather and Cleveland just doesn't turn out in foul weather - and two, once we hit July - there are too many other events in Tremont and Tremont will get more visitors if we don't double up on events.

Hope that clears the scheduling question -
2008's Show Your Stuff will be the same Sunday of June's artWalk which is June 15th, 2008.

I have invited all of the employees of the Lincoln Park Pub to bring thier stuff up to the bar that day so we can have one very large sale. Please add us to your list. We will be having the sale on the back patio.

We are up to 73 sellers across 43 locations - lots of group sales and multi-family sales!

We are still taking addresses for the map until next Wednesday, June 6, 2007. After Wednesday we cut to go to print for the event map. Doesn't mean you can't still decide to sell last minute, you just won't be listed on the event map.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the yard sales this year.

We had over 100 people who signed up to sell and an additional 10 who called to participate on Friday!

I tried to tour the 'hood during the event to get a feel for how many actually participated... and it looked like a fair amount.

Plan ahead for next year... **DATE ADJUSTMENT** Show Your Stuff is held annually on the Sunday of the June artWalk weekend. Due to a calendaring fluke - that date in 2008 is Father's Day! For 2008 ONLY - Show Your Stuff will be the Sunday before Father's Day, or SUNDAY, JUNE 8TH 2008.

(Normal schedule resumes in 2009 - Sunday of the June artWalk, a.k.a Sunday, June 14th)

Also, next year - the event is getting significantly larger. If you would like to participate committee style, help come up with some new ideas, or simply help execute - send me a note and we'll get to planning...
