Neighborhood Progress, Inc. announces a public reception and panel discussion on New Designs in Affordable Housing as part of the HOME house exhibit in the Reinberger Galleries at the Cleveland Institute of Art, 11141 East Boulevard, in Cleveland, Ohio on Wednesday, December 6th, 2006. Reception 5:00-6:00 pm; panel discussion 6:00-7:30 pm.

SPEAKERS/PANELISTS:

Opening Remarks: Bill Whitney, Cleveland Office Director, Enterprise Community Partners

Panel:
1. Architects – Beth Blostein and Bart Overly, designers of the Gradient House in the HOME House Exhibit
2. Builder/developer – Nathan Zaremba, President of Zaremba Cleveland Communities
3. City of Cleveland – Bob Brown, City Planning Commission
4. Affordable housing developers – Thomas Meyer, Construction Director, Cleveland Habitat for Humanity; Chuck Ackerman, Sr. Project Manager, Cleveland Housing Network

OBJECTIVES OF THE EVENT: Cleveland City Planning, Design Review and Community Development officials, non-profit housing organizations, developers, builders and individuals who influence the design of Cleveland neighborhoods will discuss innovative ideas and collaborations to implement change in housing development in Cleveland.
• Build a constituency for good, green design
• Showcase local initiatives in Cleveland in the areas of green building and quality design
• Explore doing a pilot project in Cleveland utilizing green building
